Intelligence is not dominated by a single general ability, as Howard Gardner suggested in his theory of multiple intelligence. Intelligence is a group of eight abilities, namely, musical–rhythmic, visual–spatial, verbal–linguistic, logical–mathematical, bodily–kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. Later on existential and moral intelligence were also considered for inclusion into this bunch. Each individual possesses a unique blend of all these intelligences. Gardner firmly maintains that his theory of multiple intelligences should “empower learners”, not restrict them to one modality of learning. Schools are often fails to cater all these. uraan believes in this. We also believe in a free thinking, democratic and creative learning processes for the young minds with an eye to identify and nurture individuality of each child. uraan is a Kolkata based collective of creative and experienced minds geared towards quality improvement of life and society through education. Uraan considers education as a tool of social reconstruction. uraan conducts workshops and camps for the children, catering to the development of multiple intelligence of a child through group/collaborative work with theatre, art, creative thinking, nature, rhythm and music, creative writing etc. We also help educators to capacitate them to tackle and ignite multiple intelligence of a child.
